Indian summer has hit Central New York giving us a reprieve from cabin fever. It was supposed to and did rain in the afternoon but my small family ventured out to soak in the glorious warmth of a February morning (normally we are freezing or buried in snow). Off we went to Labrador Hollow Unique Area where there is a nice boardwalk loop next to Labrador Hollow Pond, but we did not walk that as my two year old son prefers the skyline/ Finger Lakes trail. He loves hiking through the woods. I did capture some great photos of him with my Valentine/upcoming 40th Birthday gift from my husband! For his protection I won't share those photos here. So what you wonder did my wonderful husband surprise me with? Well, I will tell you he left me speechless and gave me better ability to catch wildlife should I get the opportunity! Alright, I now have a Canon 7D Mark ii! Hello better focusing system, 10 frames per second, HDR capability and ability to do short videos! I have much to learn and explore with this camera (thank-you Christopher Metott)! Anyways from the spot where we normally turn around my husband could hear water running, so we walked up the road and across to continue just a short distance further up the trail. There was where a small stream that usually trickles or is dry but not that day thanks to the snow melt! Evey photo was hand held at ISO 160 some f16 or f22 with a 10 - 18mm lens!
